The Tesla Model S is the dragstrip king, but how does this electric super-saloon stack up when you forget about 0-60mph times and actually drive it?

I know that electric is the future . . . but I just envisage people parked in car parks discussing the size of their batteries.
No talk about the new manifold you've fitted, no discussing the turbo you've been saving for, no noise, no smells, no passion.
Just efficient, fast, batteries. A world where a top of the line sports car sounds the same as a cheap city car.
I know it's the future, but I don't understand it.
Have you driven one?
No. And I'm highly unlikely to ever get the chance as I'm not a wealthy man.
Still, I know they're amazing... But no noise leaves me cold
What's with the f'n captions and no way (that I could find) to turn them the F off? RUINS the f'n video.
I have a P100D and love the car, owned many high end Porsche - SClass , I have an SLS in the Garage etc, but I always seem to get in the Tesla, you get hooked on the effortless power, it's a true comparison to an AMG S Class or a 750 when compared to those cars it wipes the floor with them. It's not a sports car it's a Lux sedan.
when the new solid state lithium batteries come out, it's going to get even better !, and I agree with the conclusion, I wouldn't want to get in an autonomous version either. It would be nice to see a lighter version, that would increase it's range.
I think you are basically describing the upcoming Tesla Roadster.
Agree with Terry in Canada we have - 35 and at night with snow we use heat , wipers and lights , so drive distance will be less , as the batteries get older this also cuts charge limits , now if you forget to re charge you cant just pop in to a gas station to top up .
