With their special, bright paintwork, police cars are easy to spot. While this can be useful in certain emergency situations, it can also help offenders to calm down at the right moment and slip through the cracks.

To prevent this from happening, the Harris County Police Department in Texas has ordered five very special Chevrolet Camaros. The muscle cars are equipped with ghost stickers that are almost invisible. The solution was simple and cost-effective, as all they had to do was to use a light grey paint on a white body.

And if that wasn't enough, let's add that the usually very imposing flashing lights have been replaced by more discreet elements. These Camaros have all the cards in hand to accomplish their mission, except for one detail: the car has been so much relegated to social networks that it is now very well known in the region.

  • Do the Prius maneuver when you see a white Camaro now. Pull over and hide behind a tree until the danger is gone.

  • We’ve had those on our cop cars for over a decade. It’s so annoying

  • Note to self: If I’m ever in Houston, be on the lookout for any white Camaro.

    • Yeah it is convenient having people tell you which cars are cop cars….

    • Also helps knowing where Harris county is. Which is convenient since I’m heading down there for My Grandfather birthday.
