The 14 funniest Tweets from a tense Hungarian Grand Prix
Our man @GrandPrixDiary was keeping an eye on Twitter for us as usual
Well, for the Hungarian Grand Prix, which can be a bit dull, that wasn't half bad. Unless you were a Red Bull driver of course, in which case the main 'entertainment' would have been in the team debrief after Max Verstappen clumsily took out teammate Daniel Ricciardo on lap one.
Despite some dodgy steering and a very impatient Kimi Raikkonen right behind him, Sebastian Vettel took the win, with Valtteri Bottas finishing third after Lewis Hamilton very sportingly gave the Finn back the place given to him a few laps before.
A double points finish for McLaren a very pleasing result before the summer break, with first points too for the greatest GP2 driver of all time, Stoffel Vandoorne.
That is how it all panned out at the Hungaroring, here is a snapshot of how it went down on Twitter...
1. Summer holiday vibe
Things were pretty relaxed before the race as the famous Fernando Alonso deckchair was replaced by a bean bag as he watched Pascal Wehrlein and Marcus Ericsson play table tennis. As you do.
2. short memories, guys?
In all the excitement, the F1 account knocked around 140 races off Sebastian Vettel's career. Those Red Bull days just a memory now..
3. It's just not cricket
4. Wishful thinking from Giedo van der Garde...
5. Daniel Ricciardo was right there
6. The IT team
Lap 10 and Mercedes need to hit CTR-ALT-DELETE
Then later:
7. Squirrel stop
Now THIS would make stop-and-go-penalties much more fun.
8. 'What the F&@#?'
At least we know Kimi is unlikely to go into the commentary business when he hangs up his helmet.
9. 'Lewis is faster. Than. You.'
Lap 46. First Jolyon Palmer has the dreaded 'You are slower than your teammate" call, then Valtteri Bottas gets the same..
10. Kimi just can't win
It seems Ferrari will do anything they can to not let Raikkonen win a race...
11. Same old problem
Not a bad Hungarian Grand Prix but it could be SO much better.
12. Wait, what?
A DOUBLE points finish for McLaren AND fastest lap!
13. Happy face, Kimi
The final result and doesn't Kimi look thrilled about it?

Very good. Later of course there was 'Ball-gate'. But you could probably do an article on infamous falling outs in F1
