The 2020 RAM 1500 Limited EcoDiesel
That diesel engine is just one of the gems on this machine.
I have been spending the last week with a 2020 RAM 1500 Limited EcoDiesel. So that means it is time for me to tell you everything you get with this truck and what I thought about it. Here we go.....
What you get
The 2020 RAM 1500 Limited I drove as you can probably tell by the title of this article was powered by the EcoDiesel engine. It is a 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel engine which puts out 260 horsepower, but also gives you 480 lb-ft of torque. The diesel on the RAM 1500 is a $4995 option.
That diesel is matted to a 8-speed automatic transmission and the powertrain combo makes its way to the 1500 Limited's four wheel drive system.
The interior is a highlight for not only the RAM 1500, but for the truck class. You get an amazing 12.0 navigation/entertainment display in your center console, this particular model had a 19 speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, the works. For all the details on the interior, I suggest you check out this detailed look:
This particular RAM 1500 had a few boxes checked. It featured the Black Appearance Package which gets you a black RAM grille, 22 inch black aluminum wheels, that Harman Kardon system I previously mentioned, black exterior badging, black headlamp bezels, tow hooks, and a cool sport performance vented hood. It also has a 3.92 rear axle ratio, a 33 gallon fuel tank, and the always welcome RAMBOX on both rear wheel wells.
Let me start with the exterior of the RAM 1500. I dislike chrome and usually dislike appearance packages, but the added Black Appearance Package on the RAM 1500 I drove makes it look very menacing and aggressive.
The Black Appearance Package is all my personal preference and dislike of chrome, but one option you definitely need to check is the $4995 3.0 liter V6 turbocharged diesel. The horsepower is near the 300 I say is all you need on the road and that torque is near 500! You put your foot down and you move.
Now onto the best part of the 2020 RAM 1500 - the interior. In my opinion, RAM makes the best interiors you can have for a truck. It all looks nice, but the literal center stone of the RAM 1500s interior is that large 12 inch nav screen. it isn't the best infotainment system ever, but everything is naturally where you would look for it easily accessible.
One final thing to note that was the first item I noticed in the RAM 1500. The RAM 1500 gets 21 city and 29 highway, not the best ever, but respectable. That 33 gallon fuel tank option this truck has, when I got the keys I started it up I had more than 800 miles of fuel in the thing. I am not sure I ever had a vehicle with that much potential miles to be had on a fuel tank before. I barely put a dent in it.
My wife says I should buy one of these things for a future dad baby mobile, but that is where my only negative comes in. The base price is $56k, but by the time you get to the truck I want it is $75k. Still a great value, but out of my range.
