The W-12 Bentley Flying Spur is phenomenal. It's very comfortable, ridiculously quick off the line, and surprisingly good at corners. It's a 626-horsepower monster, with the most luxurious leather you've ever seen. Some may call that overkill and now, for them, there is the 2021 Flying Spur V-8.

Bentley will be offering its twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, which is also available in the Continental GT and Bentayga, in the Flying Spur luxury sedan as a lighter and cheaper alternative to the existing W-12 model. The British automaker says it's adding the more driver-focused powertrain because it's seeing a change in customers actually driving their Flying Spurs instead of being driven around in them.

The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and produces 542 horsepower and 569 lb-ft of torque. Bentley claims a 0-60 launch in 4.0 seconds and a top speed of 198 mph.

  • Frankly speaking I'd go for the W12. If I buy a Bentley I don't want it to be quick. The W12 is just that bit more majestic

    • Good point but it'd be cool to surprise the people at your Friday night gala by doing burnouts or revving very high😂😂

  • Not that weight makes much difference in a big limo but it should make it more responsive at the least

    • Well, yes, but Bentley say that it's lost 220 pounds, so that ought to make it more sporty!

    • Eh. Not so much, I mean the W12 is very sporty and fast, so the V8 should follow in its footsteps...
