The 2021 Ford Raptor will likely have two new engine options
A twin-turbo V6 Hybrid or 5.2L Supercharged V8 from the GT500
As you know Ram has finally come out with the TRX and they did not disappoint. With the 6.2 L supercharged Hemi V-8 making 702 horsepower, people got really excited. Ford however has plans to compete and these two off-road trucks will be locked into a battle to prove which is the best.

You may have heard that the new Ford F-150 will have a option for a hybrid with the 3.5 L V-6 ecoboost and that is rumored to be true as well for the updated Ford Raptor. Currently the Ford Raptor uses the non-hybrid 3.5 L twin-turbo ecoboost V-6 that produces an excellent 450 horsepower. All that power and AWD helps this truck accelerate from 0-60 in just 5.5 seconds which is incredible for a truck! The Lincoln Aviator hybrid has a smaller 3.0 L ecoboost V-6 but it can produce 494 horsepower and 630 lb ft of torque which are substantial figures.

Most people however, to compete with the Ram TRX will get the 5.2 L, Eaton supercharged, cross-plane crankshaft, DOHC V-8 from the Shelby GT500. As you may know the GT500 can produce up to 755 horsepower which is a massive figure. Of course Ford may decide to tune it down a bit, but I doubt they would do that by much since they will want to show up the TRX.
