The 720Hp V8 Swapped AE86 by DriftWorks meets Hillclimb Racing...
Watch Driftworks´ Boss Phill Morrison getting this utter beast sideways on the quite narrow Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb
Second Guest Car we feature from Retro Rides Gathering 2019, and this time it´s the outrageous DriftWorks AE86 V8, a Drift Monster that uses the Spaceframed Chassis from a NASCAR, a 7.4L LSx V8 Engine in NAturally Aspirated form and the Iconic Toyota Hachiroku shell in its Trueno version.
Created and driven by the very Boss of DriftWorks, Phil Morrison, here we had the chance to observe this Monster finally attacking an HillClimb ( Shelsley Walsh in this case) in a spectaular Drift Run, where we had the added bonus of a proper "Tire Warming" session. This one is built for the public enjoyment more than to fight against the clock, but it is a tremendous machine and at 720Hp/1200Kg, it is certainly no slouch too... And getting sideways on such a narrow place with all that power certainly makes for some proper entertainment...
And of course, this Monster did fit rigt into the Retro Rides Gathering motto, being a properly modifed version of a pre-1995 car. Check the Highlights video of the show to see how it was:
