The 9.500Rpm 3S-G Mid-Engined Corolla AE92 Gymkhana Legend
This is the second version of this Slalom Monster AE82 we have also featured on our Channels, this one with bodywork based on the more modern (at the time) AE92 Corolla. It´s Ken Okuyama´s Tom´s S1D, a Legend of Japanese Gymkhana/Slalom Racing, originally a spaceframed, Rear Wheel Drive Corolla AE82 featuring a Central Driver Position, and powered by a mid-mounted 3S-GE Naturally Aspirated engine producing 260Hp/9.500Rpm tuned by Legendary Japanese tuner Tom´s.
With this engine sourced form a Formula 3 Racer, its quite extreme architecture and weighing only 600Kg this was a multiple Champion in late 80´s and early 90´s Japanese Slalom scene thanks to its incredible agility. This particular Version would end up being the last one used finishing it´s career on 1991, being retired after achieving tremendous success and becoming a staple of Tom´s Tuning House.
