The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio takes on the BMW M4 and Audi RS5
Italy challenges Germany!
Everyone knows the Alfa Romeo Giulia. Presented in 2015, the saloon that replaced the venerable 159 has been joined by an explosive Quadrifoglio version. With a V6 engine designed by Ferrari, the Giulia now has the shoulders wide enough to face the German tenors that are the Audi RS5 and BMW M4.
Carwow has therefore organised a drag race between the three cars. First of all, the Giulia Quadrifoglio hides under its bonnet a 2.9-litre V6 with 510 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. All this power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Opposite it are the Audi RS5 and BMW M4. The Audi has a 2.9-litre V6 producing 450 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. Of course, the car has four-wheel drive combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RS5 weighs 1700 kg compared to 1520 kg for the Giulia.
Finally, the BMW M4 is powered by a 3.0-litre in-line six producing 431 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. Because it' s a BMW, the power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic gearbox (and not six as said in the video). The Bavarian coupe weighs 1650 kg on the scale.
