The Alpine A110 becomes EVO Magazine coupe of the year
That's right, the Alpine A110 has been named 'Coupe of the Year' by popular car magazine EVO.
Stuart Gallagher, Editor of EVO said, "There’s such finesse about the Alpine’s approach to everything it does that you swear blind you’ve upped your game as a driver with every trip. Thrills and rewards are rarely this accessible.”
John Barker, EVO Editor added: "Within 20 yards you’re smiling because the A110 feels light and small and refreshingly different… It covers the ground in a way that we haven’t seen since the original Elise, with a deftness, a lightness of touch which at times feels like alchemy.”
Alpine themselves were very proud of this achievement and so they should be! “Thank you to evo for their recognition of the A110. It’s clear that the Alpine A110 has been extremely well received by the specialist motoring press and we’re delighted to have won another significant award. It’s been an incredible year for us and it’s exciting to see the reaction to the A110 and, most importantly, that customers are enjoying driving their new cars," said Sébastien Erphelin, managing director of Alpine.
However, this isn't the A110's first victory this year. The Alpine has also been awarded, Top Gear's magazine performance car of the year and sports car of the year, Motorsport magazine road car of the year, Autocar five stars, in top 50 for best cars for under 50k, Octane Historic Motoring awards performance car of the year, and finally it has been nominated as European car of the year in 2019.
So as you can see, a good year for Alpine!
The magazine greatly praised the car's performance and its handling capabilities. I have never seen one, let alone driven one but I can imagine it is quite an experience. I have heard it is similar to the Porsche Cayman, does that mean we can expect to see a A110 T soon?!
