Charles Leclerc quickly carries around the curve of the track as we get doused in red, black and yellow. Lines of motion as well as geometrical lines permeate throughout the cover as we glance at the reflection of the giant ferrite cell crystal also known as the Atomium.

DID YOU KNOW?

The Atomium museum was originally designed by André Waterkeyn for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair. The structure stands 335 feet tall and each sphere has a diameter of 60 feet. The design is of the cell an iron ferrite crystal. There are stairs, escalators and an elevator located within the structure that lead visitors to each of the obs. There is a restaurant within the top sphere of the building. Click here for a virtual tour

MEET THE ARTIST - FEDERICO FERNIANI

My name is FEDERICO CARLO FERNIANI, I was born in Empoli, a city near Florence, in 1974 and am the youngest of four children. I started to draw since the most tender age finding and seeking continuous stimulus in my principal passions; books, comic strips, music and movies.

After High school I applied for admission to the Academy of Belle Arti in Florence but was not accepted because not technically prepared. Disappointed I began to study history and anthropology to the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy in Florence in the attempt to realize another dream. During those years I continued to study art, and attended the International School of Comics in Florence. In 1998 despite the passion for the university, thinking that it was not the right path and in need of a work, I finally decided to test my fate getting an interview in one of the most important studies of illustration in Florence, the Inklink studio. So began my career in the illustration world ,fiction and non fiction, for the book industry and the museums.

During those years I kept on attending, in the evening hours, schools of 2d and 3d graphics specializing me in digital illustration. After almost ten years of working and hundreds of publications for a lot of European publishing houses and Italian museums of archaeology, in 2007 I have felt the need of a more personal artistic road. In 2009 I signed a contract for my first French comic with Soleil ,"Bravesland", and it started my career in the world of the comics. Currently, besides the comics, I continue my activity of illustrator and graphic designer.
