The Aston Martin Vantage is getting a drop-top version
The new Aston Martin Vantage has been around for more than a year now, and the only thing that it's been missing all this while is a convertible version. Not to worry though, as the company's chief creative officer, Marek Reichman, has revealed that the roadster is "all done". The car is still undergoing it's final tests, but he stated that the official reveal will take place towards the end of this year. And chances are that it might look something like this.
That's all good. But, there is some disappointing news as well. When asked about the chances of the Vantage having a V12, he said that would be "too much", although he admitted it "would be a good idea".
This can only mean the Vantage will use the same 4.0 liter twin turbocharged AMG V8 found in the standard version producing 503 hp. But honestly, a V12 wouldn't really be necessary, considering how good the standard V8 is. Besides, you get to hear that beautiful V8 soundtrack, without having to deal with any of the sound deadening materials.
