The Audi S8 faces the Bentley Flying Spur in a drag race!
Sporty limousines head to head
Some may legitimately wonder what a sports limousine is for. Indeed, you might as well buy a supercar and a classic limousine, both of which will be good in their respective fields! The problem is that you end up with two cars to maintain, insure and park.
This is where sports limousines come in. They succeed in brilliantly combining two radically opposed values: sport and comfort. Today Carwow has set two particularly dynamic limousines against each other. On one side we have the Audi S8 and on the other the Bentley Flying Spur.
The German first of all takes on board a 4.0-litre V8 under its bonnet developing 571 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. All this power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Facing it is an English saloon which is more used to castle yards than drag racing strips.
The Bentley has a much more noble 6.0-litre W12. It produces 635 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. The car obviously has four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. With its more muscular mechanics and more pronounced luxury, the Bentley weighs 2437 kg compared to 2230 kg for the Audi.
