Yes, now my laptop can hold a charge again, I can finally get back to posting about the history of the Fast 4WD estate, and here is an important one, one everyone can recognise, the B7 RS4.
The B7 Audi A4 was quite the visual improvement over the B6, with bold Styling that pushed car design. The huge trapezoidal grill was a new move for Audi, but one that would become a staple of their styling going into the 2010s.

While the car's appearance was new, the car was very similar to the B6 underneath with the same 4.2l V8, making 339hp and 300 ft-lbs of torque. In 2007 there were small improvements like a new differential, but the S4 stayed largely the same as its predecessor as the B7. However, BMW and Mercedes had new V8 coupes to pummel the Audi S4. However in 2006 Audi Pulled out their ace, the all-new RS4.

The Audi RS4 had the taps turned up from 339 hp to 414hp and had aluminium front wings and bonnet to keep the weight down. A refined 4WD system also went a long way to push the RS4 to stardom. It won the "Top Gear's Most Surprising car" award in 2005.
Production was cut in 2008, making way for the next generation of A4, which brought back the V6 S4. But before the downsizing era, there is one more Audi left...
