The Bay To Birdwood Run 2018 - a Family Car Event

The Bay to Birdwood (B2B) Run is held annually in South Australia.

FIrst started in 1980 by the Federation of Historic Motoring Clubs, Channel 10 and fantastic National Motor Museum, the B2B runs on a bi-annual cycle, with Vintage and Veteran cars one year, and Classics the other.

Originally the B2B was for pre-1950 vehicles, and started from Glenelg (known locally as "The Bay"). The run winds through Adelaide suburbs and up into the foothills which overlook the city, ending up at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood, where entrants park their cars for spectators to look over them, and enjoy lots of food and Rock and Roll music from live bands.

By 1990 the B2B had earned Australia wide recognition by winning the National Tourism Award as the best special event or festival staged in Australia.

In 2003 the event was expended with the introduction of the Bay to Birdwood Classic for vehicles manufactured between 1956 and 1981.

The B2B is TRULY a family event, with entrants dressing in period clothing, and a lot of vehicles carrying the whole family up to Birdwood.

This year's event had over 800 entrants, and a specialty section - 70 years of Land-Rovers (where were you Richard Hammond?)

Here are a few pictures from the event - I hope you enjoy them!

  • That Packard is painfully beautiful. I don't even care about the rest; please post more shots of it.

  • That Packard is stunning, but that Graham Paige is amazingly colorful! What a beautiful car. I don't think I've ever seen Buicks of that age before. Awesome show!
