Every year there's a car that everybody is talking about, lusting after, drooling on, and otherwise fawning over.
Just as the 1960s were years of radical change, the cars of the decade were a monumental departure from anything that came before. Suddenly, legit performance was available to nearly everyone and styling was refined to such a degree that today's car designers still draw inspiration from their grandfathers' rides.

1960- Ferrari 250 GT SWB California

1963- Aston Martin DB5 / Porsche 911
The year of 63 gave us the birth of two great icons. The DB5 and the 911.

1965- Ford GT40
1965 gave birth to the greatest legend in American racing history: The Ford GT40. It was conceived out of Henry Ford's ironically Italian vendetta against Enzo Ferrari, and designed to beat the Italian at his own game: The 24 Hours of Le Man. It did... four times
1966- Lamborghini Miura
The Miura is the forefather of all the two-seat, mid-engined supercars we have today. It also started the tradition of V12, mid-engined Lamborghinis that will fling a driver into a canyon if he's not careful. The Lamborghini Miura at the time of its introduction it was the fastest production car in the world.
1967- Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale
This Italian supercar appears to be made entirely of sexual curves, aluminum, and lunacy. It's one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Only 18 were ever produced, and in 1967 it was the most expensive production car in the world.
1968- Ferrari Daytona
The Ferrari Daytona was a masterpiece. It was sleek, fast, nimble, and eventually lived up to its moniker by placing 2nd at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1979.
1969- Ferrari Dino
The Dino 206 GT was Ferrari’s first serious attempt at building a smaller, entry-level car. The model was aimed directly at the Porsche 911, but company founder Enzo Ferrari didn’t like the idea of putting his name on a car not powered by a V12. The name Dino was chosen to honor his son.
