The supercharged 6.2L V8 engine powering the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat won a Ward's Auto 10 Best Engines award for 2015. The engine produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, and it's ready to smoke some tires! The supercharger alone is 2.4 liters, and takes 80 horsepower to run at full tilt.

I'll be taking you through the engine specifications, engine bay layout, and cool features of the engine on the 2018 Dodge Hellcat widebody, which uses the same engine as the award winning 2015 Hellcat.

  • 707 HP out of a supercharged 6.2 L V8 is not very impressive

    • Man, I think it's pretty damn good. I know you could get a lot more out of it, but for reliability's sake they didn't turn it up to 1300hp(which that block is easily good for)

  • We have a 2018 charger hellcat in the shop right now. We started it the other day... made some of the ceiling tiles fall down.
