The Biggest Merc

The Maybach is considered by many as the best and most luxurious car in the world.

This one (a 57S) used to be the daily driver of the owner of Gosford Classic Cars (I wonder what he drives now?)

A Bit about the Maybach

The original Maybach company was founded in 1909.

The Maybach brand was acquired by Daimler-Benz in 1960, and returned as the ultra-luxury brand we see represented above.

Maybach originally built diesel and petrol Zeppelin Engines!

This car weighs over 6,000 lbs (2.7 Tonnes)!

Despite weighing more than a locomotive, The 57S accelerates from 0-60mph in about 4.8 seconds, thanks to the 603bhp twin-turbocharged V12.

    • I totally agree - It's very cool Arjun! But have you seen one of the older ones? I took this picture at the Schlumpf Collection a couple of years back.

    • The definitive *modern Maybach. Nothing can beat the elegance of the classic models. Well said.

  • I know they get mocked, but they're stunning cars.

    • I've always thought of them as just a big Merc with some glitter, but when you look into them, they're a lot more than that.
