The BMW i Vision Dynamics is a look at the i5 of the future
BMW’s Frankfurt reveal is a preview of what will become the i5 of the future
We were expecting BMW to reveal the all-new i5 model at The Frankfurt Motor Show. Instead, they have unveiled a precursor to that model in the form of the ‘i Vision Dynamics’ concept.
BMW has been very cagey about actual numbers in respect of the performance, merely confirming a Tesla rivalling four-second 0-62mph time and 120mph of top speed with a potential range of 373 miles.
What we have here is a four-door Gran Coupe style affair that will eventually slot in between the i3 and i8 models. Much like the rather disliked X7 concept from last week, the i Vision features a massive set of kidney grilles. Here though the looks are vastly improved as part of a sweeping aero design.
This model is all part of BMW’s grand plan to have a total of 25 cars featuring an electrified drive system on the road by 2025 with 12 of them being using only pure electric power.
BMW’s recent concepts have all been pretty much close to the mark with a more than a hint of which direction the German car-maker is heading. While the i Vision may never fully become a reality in its current form, the fact that it could point to a subtly styled future rather than cars like the rather chronic looking X7 can only be a positive thing.
What are your thoughts on the i Vision concept? And BMW’s grand plan to electrify the future? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Strange how the styling doesn't include the signature 'Hofmeister kink', but I like it overall...maybe not the grill.
Not bad
