The BMW iX just got better looking

Academy Award winning actor Christoph Waltz gets a first look at the electric SUV

You know him best from his Oscar winning performances as Hans Landa in "Inglourious Basterds" and the lovable Dr. King Schultz in "Django Unchained". Actor Christoph Waltz is now being featured in a promo video for the new BMW iX.

The all electric compact SUV has gone from a concept in late 2018, to receiving a target on-sale date of 2022. It was officially revealed by BMW early last month. It's slated to offer 500 hp and a range of 300 miles per charge.

The design was initially...well, hated. Many people said the inoperative grille is ugly and still think that.

Well, the iX has never looked better than with the handsome Waltz behind its wheel. Come pick me up anytime, sir.

The video is in German with only auto-generated subtitles in other languages. But the gist of the conversation is about exterior design features, the tech inside, and that's pretty much it (standard promotional talk).

  • I don't like the rims

  • I think the grille suits the IX. It deserves not to be on the m4 and m3

  • I know the iX and it's like are the way forward but can't they just electrify classic models like the one he arrives in?...

    • I think if they electrified a classic, they would likely restyle it, which may be upsetting. But then again, nothing can be as awful as the Ford Mustang Mach E.

    • Agree the Mach E is awful but a decent classic should retain it's original features and have as few cosmetic changes as possible
