The Cadillac CTS-V just got a 1000-HP upgrade from Hennessey

Some very juicy upgrades for the saloon

Next year shall be the last year for the Cadillac CTS-V after being in production for nearly 15 years.

Cadillac will be giving it a official farewell with the Pedestal Edition. But just in case that doesn't float your boat for you Hennessey has given it a few mouth watering upgrades.

The original Cadillac CTS-V had a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine that could produce 640 hp and a top speed of 200 mph.

0-62 mph (0-100km/h) just took 3.7 seconds which isn't that bad. Hennessey instead is offering a 1000hp upgrade package.

But to do this they had to upgrade many things including the automatic transmission and the car needs to run on 93-octane gasoline. The supercharger used has ported cylinder heads, upgraded valves, valve springs, a more monstrous camshaft profile, retainers and a high-flow inter-cooling system.

Thanks to those upgrades they now enable the Cadillac CTS-V to reach 0-60 mph (0-100km/h) in 2.9 seconds and a quarter mile 10.5 seconds with a top speed of 135 mph.

The interior will have branded Hennessey floor mats and serial-numbered dash. While the exterior will have special badges and engine plagues. Theses insane upgrades are currently available for all 2016-2018 CTS-Vs with a 2 year (24,00 mile) limited warranty.

The upgrades of the Cadillac CTS-V also has gone through multiple Dyno tuning and testing to make sure everything functions correctly.

  • Interesting, but what market/audience is this for? I think that is Cadillac's main problem. In the heavily speed limited and questionably paved US performance isn't just about horsepower.

  • ??...1/4 mile time thats only 0.4 secs faster than an M5...for all the extra cost, why bother

    • Ok I’m assuming you’re talking about the F90 1/4 mile. It is a fast one coming in at 10.9 seconds but in racing, every tenth of a second matters. At the end of the day, a 10.5 second 1/4 mile is still faster and better than a 10.9 second 1/4 mile....
