The Dodge Challenger Demon goes up to 1400 hp with Hennessey
The American tuner Hennessey had already unveiled two special kits for the diabolical Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, called HPE1000 and HPE1200. These allow the Demon to increase its power to more than 1000 and 1200 hp respectively. These figures seem not enough for Hennessey, which recently developed an even more bestial kit with new radical transformations.
Among them is the increase in the displacement of the V8 engine from 6.2 L to 7.0 L. This new kit called HPE1400 increases the power of the muscle car to 1400 hp! To prove their point, Hennessey officials released a video showing the Challenger with the famous kit on a test bench. The figures posted seem to be in line with Hennessey's promise.
The graph easily shows that the 1237 hp and 1459 Nm of torque have been reached. These measurements were taken from the wheels and not on the crankshaft. It is therefore necessary to take into account a loss percentage of around 10 to 15%. We therefore obtain figures higher than the 1400 hp and 1616 Nm of torque claimed by the kit!
The preparer also removed the compressor from the standard model and replaced it with two huge new turbochargers. A new exhaust system has been installed as well as the intake and cooling, which have also been changed. Visually speaking, however, the changes are minor. The model will keep its original style and be discreet.
