In 2040, if not before, combustion engine cars as we know them will cease to be produced. We have all grown up in a world surrounded with cars and that has impacted our lives in a multitude of ways, some good and, unfortunately, some bad. Twenty40 has been produced to give credit to the good: incredible engineering, stunning aesthetics and the skilful people all over the world who have pushed the boundaries of cars: making them more reliable, faster and economic than ever before.
Over the past year, I along with a group of creative individuals have come together, driven by a love of cars and a passion for our art. We set out to produce a beautiful short film in tribute to the last of the naturally aspirated supercars. Starring one of the most iconic and widely loved motors, a personal favourite, the original Audi, V8, R8. We have driven some of the UK’s most iconic roads: from the slopes of Snowdonia to the towering terrain of Cheddar Gorge. Our intentions for this project, from the offset, were to portray the relationship between the driver and their machine as organically as possible. Everything is true to the car, all shots and sound effects have been meticulously cut together with respect to the vehicle, this means no extra crackles and pops here... Sorry!
Â
Most importantly, during this journey we have brought a team of likeminded creative individuals, businesses and enthusiasts together. We have built a community around this project, a community that we wish to continue to grow.

The team and I want to give a huge thanks to everyone involved; all the local businesses that assisted by allowing the use of their space and facilities. Also, friends and family that gave up their time, this project wouldn’t have been possible without them all. A special mention to Filament Marketing for their assistance; to the Great Tew Estate and The Manor, in Weston-on-the-Green, for the generous donation of their time and space too.
