The F1 2018 release date has just been confirmed
Not long to wait for the latest F1 racer from Codemasters to arrive on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Formula One fans will be pleased to know they can spend their (potentially rainy) summer indoors playing F1 2018, as the release date has just been confirmed by developer Codemasters.
Just like how it was for F1 2017, F1 2018 will arrive on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in time for the Belgian Grand Prix at the Spa Francorchamps circuit, specifically Friday the 24th of August.
As we previously reported, the F1 2018 Esports Series will use F1 2017 as a basis until the arrival of F1 2018, at which point those wanting a slice of the US$200,000 prize pool will need to adapt to the latest game.
“We were delighted by the reception that the highly-acclaimed F1 2017 game received, and are extremely excited to be able to further build on such a strong starting point with F1 2018," said Codemasters Formula One franchise director, Paul Jeal.
He continued: “Over the past few years we have engaged heavily with our fan-base to understand what is important to them, and we cannot wait to unveil more details on features we know our fans will love.
"Career mode has been further expanded to immerse players even deeper into the world of F1 than before, with the return of a highly requested feature back into the franchise. We are also adding more classic cars, again listening to our fans as to which of the historical F1 cars they would most like to virtually drive next.
"Outside of those headline additions there are many other great enhancements to be revealed before the game launches."
F1 2017 included 12 classic racers, including the McLaren MP4/4, so you can probably expect more in F1 2018, although exactly which cars will make the cut is unclear.
Beyond that, we have little idea of what else to expect. Other than being able to race F1 cars in a digital capacity, of course, and trying to avoid crashing into other players, Max Verstappen style.
While we wat for the game to arrive, you can cast your eyes over the following collection of words: 5 things I'd like to see in F1 2018.
