The Fast And The Furious PS5 Heists 2020
Fast Furious is realistic after all
The Playstation 5 is a hot commodity right now on the tail end of 2020. Nobody can seem to get their hands on one because they are always sold out and if they do end up for sale, they are marked up to double their retail price. Well thieves in the UK are very aware of this and want to get these consoles for themselves to get in on the action, before sanity of gamers comes back and they realize plenty of PS5s will be made. So, what tactics have these thieves resorted to? They looked at a form of theft that involved 3 black modified Civics with green underglow nearly 20 years ago in the 2001 release of "The Fast And The Furious". This method is called, "The Rollover".
These thieves use 3-4 fairly quick cars to surround the semi from the front, side(s) and rear and slow it down so it can't go past 50mph. Once the truck has been slowed down, a passenger climbs out of the cars and opens the trailer using a crowbar or cutting tool. Once they've gained access to the goods, they pass the items into the car directly tailing the semi-truck using a specially modified sunroof.
Police have noted that these thieves are most likely tipped off about deliveries. They also noted that these types of heists have also included cell phones, cigarettes and new Apple products have also been targeted in this rollover style raid. Apparently, these rollover raids have allegedly been used 27 different times according to the National Vehicle Crime Inteligence Service (Navcis) since January. While hauling companies and haulers themselves have been notified of this type of raid, they don't have a lot of security and there isn't really anything they can do to prevent the situation. In truck raids this year a total of over $87.8 million USD have been stolen from trucks/delivery vans in the UK. Similar tactics have been used in Chile as well.
If you live in the UK, ordered a Playstion 5, and you are still waiting for it, this could be a possible explanation as to why you haven't received it yet. I hope you enjoyed this article and don't forget to give it a bump and follow me if you enjoy my content.
