The Ferrari 488 GT Modificata is the track car of your dreams
Move over Senna GTR, there is a new track monster in town
We all like track cars which are not bound by any racing regulations. The Ferrari 488 GT Modificata is just that. It shows what happens when the engineers at Maranello are not restricted by anything and the result is prancing horse “transcending the limits”.
Packing a mighty 700 horsepower from that lovely 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8, this 488 can produce a whopping 1,000kg of downforce. This supercar is the result of a marriage of Ferrari's GT3 and GTE cars.
The suspension comes from the 488 GTE, the ABS system is borrowed from the 488 GT3 Evo 2020. In order to increase the downforce, the aerodynamics have been fiddled with to a large extent. The roof and uprights are made from aluminium while the whole body is made from carbon fibre.
Brembo brakes, V-Box, a rear-view camera, tyre pressure management system, Bosch data telemetry and a passenger seat (yes, you can take your friend along on your mad track day) are other features of the GT Modificata.
According to Ferrari, Modificara means “designs that have been evolved for better performance”. There is no word on the price and Ferrari also hasn't disclosed how many of these ludicrous track monsters will be made.
