The name "Polestar" sounds familiar to Volvo lovers, yes the last time we heard of it was in a optimized version of the new XC60. Now Polestar will produce its own standalone cars, the models will generally be sporty and will feature advanced technologies. It will be a technology spearhead for the Volvo Car Group, introducing new technologies and performance attributes to the market. The company will likely produce powerful hybrid electric vehicles.
Polestar is planning to enter the international market with three breathtaking models in mid 2019. The Polestar 1 is the first of the three cars. It is stuffed with the Volvo Drive-E engine producing 600hp and 1,000Nm. With these remarkable numbers, this coupé fits in the heavily crowded performance car segment. On electric power only, it can travel unto 150km which puts on top of the list of hybrids in the market today.
Even though Polestar is somehow a brand of its own, it still has the 2017 Volvo design. It has a similar grille, intake, headlamp, and taillamp. The interior is identical to the Volvo's in every detail. However, that is not a problem as Volvo isn't particularly ugly, but some changes would have given polestar some authenticity.
Polestar 2 and 3 are yet to follow, and if they'll be as beautiful as the Polestar 1, as long as I'm concerned they'll be biblical!
