The Ford Focus ST can produce more power than a Golf R via an app
Today, we can do everything with the help of our mobile phones. Tell me one thing you can't do using your mobile phone. Now, you can even increase the power output of your new Focus ST via an app on your mobile phone.
The app comes from Essex-based tuner Mountune, and it is called SMARTflash. You can use the app by plugging your phone via the adapter, into the OBD port of your car. The only physical modification you'll have to do is install a high-flow air filter.
The owner can choose between Performance, stock or anti-theft modes. In Performance mode, your Focus ST will produce 325bhp and 380lb ft of torque, thanks to an ECU tweak. That is more than pretty much every hot-hatch on the planet.
0-62mph takes 5.2 seconds in Mountune's Focus ST. But it's not only power, you also get no-lift shifts, a punchy exhaust note and special wheels and stripes (if you ask politely).
All this costs £599 (or £600 in the real world). Fair deal?
