The Forza Horizon 4 'Service Check' update has arrived
Loading up Forza Horizon 4 will require an update. Here's what is new.
Forza Horizon 4 has been given a new update, which weighs in around 2GBs in size and comes with a number of interesting additions.
The first major change is the introduction of Paint Groups, which on the face of it sounds as interesting as watching, erm, paint dry. But for those who like to customise, it's kind of a big deal.
It basically means that for some cars such as the 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport it's a whole lot easier to adjust the colour scheme, as opposed to having to faff with a livery.
Also for first time is the ability to paint your rims. Using the All Paint Groups, Paint Group 1, Paint Group 2, Inner Barrel and Outer Lip areas, you can make complex designs and even make use of materials such as carbon fibre or chrome for that sporty or bling look, respectively.
There are 41 new wheel designs to choose from, as well. As something the Forza community has been asking for a while in previous games, it's nice to see Turn 10 is listening. Partially, anyway (*cough* online mode needs work).
There is also a new Horizon Cup event, which can net you a prize of 3.6-million credits for completing 12 seasonal events (and maybe some other prizes, which we will check when the download has completed).
Useful, it must be said, if you want to save up for some of the game's pricier metal and bricks, although amassing skill points and spending them on cars with the free 300,000 perk and then repeating this over and over is still probably more effective, if 100 per cent tedious.
You can also see the eight new Car Pass cars arriving between the 22nd of November and the 13th of December, a roster that includes the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage, 2014 McLaren 650S Spider and the 2003 Honda S2000.
Four new 'exclusive' cars have been added, too, although it is unclear what they are and how you will be able to get them. And it is now possible to add cars from DLCs in bulk as opposed to separately, which was a painfully slow process.
You can read about various bug fixes and adjustments in the full patch list (including removing a glitch that meant some players were missing double points even if they owned the Lake Lodge house), which you can read here.
