The GM American-Canadian Muscle Cars You (Probably) Haven't Heard Of
Back during the Muscle Car Era of the '60s and early '70s, Canada had placed high tariffs on automobiles manufactured in the U.S. to combat this, GM decided to make cars that were exclusively made for the Canadian market. This resulted in some very rare Muscle cars that not many people have heard of.
The first of these cars was the Acadian automaker. Acadian was created by GM to create a compact car that was made for Canadian Pontiac-Buick dealerships to sell because the Pontiac Tempest wasn't sold in Canada. It was based on the Chevy II/Nova, and had 4 different series. There was the base level Invader, the midlevel Casno, the Deluxe Beaumont, and the Beaumont Sport Deluxe. The Beaumont was sold under the Acadian name until 1966. Post 1966, the Acdian Casno became the top model and was the Canadian equivalent of the Nova SS.

In 1966, the Beaumont separated from the Acadian name and became a Chevrolet Chevelle based vehicle. In 1968, The Beaumont took new styling cues from the newly redesigned Chevelle although, they are slightly different. It used a Pontiac style front split grille, and had square wraparound taillights exclusive to the Beaumont. The Beaumont Sport Deluxe was the Canadian version of the Chvelle SS and is one of the more desirable models. A convertible Beaumont was also made and it is rather unique.

The Beuamonts in general were never sold or marketed in the U.S. Because of this, these cars are rarer than it's Chevelle counter parts. Not only that but these cars have spent most of their time exposed to the elements meaning the are even more rare in good condition. If you want to get one, you can expect to pay a pretty penny to buy one or restore one. In the end, I think it would be worth it because it is one of the most unique muscle cars out there and fairly unknown and in the end could end up being worth more than a Chevelle.
What do you think about these unique GM muscle cars? Let me know in the comments. Also let me know of any information about these cars I may have missed because I can't find much information on the cars. Don't forget to bump this post and join my tribe and follow me for more content like this.
