Richard Hammond's dreams have finally come true as The Grand Tour heads to Detroit to film in three of the best American muscle cars to date: The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, a Hennessey Exorcist Camaro, and a Ford Mustang RTR.

They were spotted by Motor1 as, funnily enough, they were right on their doorstep as they paraded up and down the road which is home to Detroit's historic Packard Plant. Hammond was in the Demon - no jokes please! - Clarkson in the RTR which was also shown in the opening film of The Grand Tour's first ever episode, and James May in the Demon battling Exorcist. This is certainly going to be an exciting and horsepower filled episode when it airs on our screens later this year (hopefully).

Unfortunately, Motor1 were asked to leave before they could ask any questions or get any further details, but the photos they snapped certainly open our imagination floodgates!

  • Tres Mustangs para la apertura del primer episodio. Será que su despedida será con estos tres muscle cars?

  • I would love to be a Production Runner/hand in for their company, it would be a massive insight into a business I want to make my career into and a lot hard work but fun too. I would do it for free even for a couple of months, just to get the experience and exposure.

  • Surprised may is in the hennessey i guess he drew the short straw, cos that thing surely can't last the whole trip without breaking down ?

  • So they are going to compare a stock yet special model Dodge against heavily after market modified Ford and Chevy. Hardly seems fair.
