With the world on the edge of their seats, waiting with baited breath for the next instalment in season 4 of The Grand Tour - the Madagascar special - we have at least had some fantastic news from Amazon regarding the trio.

During an interview at the Edinburgh TV Festival, Georgia Brown - Director of European Originals for Amazon - revealed that there will indeed be more episodes of The Grand Tour produced, in spite of the current travel difficulties the world is facing.

It seems we're in for plenty more SPEED and POWER on our screens

It seems that Clarkson, Hammond and May do actually rather enjoy their jobs - who knew? Georgia explains that “Of all of our talent, these guys are fearless. They will go anywhere, they will do anything. So no, it continues. We have more Grand Tour coming, we have more of their individual projects coming."

That bodes well for fans of spin-off shows too. With Clarkson's farming show hopefully near to being released and Hammond's science show with Tori Belleci having been confirmed, it seems that we'll be seeing more work from Mr May following his "Our man in Japan" series too - top news!

Hopefully we'll see the boys back on our screens sooner rather than later. YouTube: Jose Miguel Claro

Confirming that once they are able to get back on the road there won't be any negative impacts on the show, Brown said The Grand Tour will still be "Grand" - "We’re not downsizing, put it that way.”

Now, if only we could get the next episode... Pretty, pretty please Amazon?

  • I hope they go to some more Middle Eastern countries like Iran. I remember the old Top Gear Middle East special, what an epic episode that was!

    • Except they're the harbingers of doom and internal strife. They go to Ukraine and then there's a revolution and Russia invades. Syria and Iraq and you get ISIS. And you've seen what their visits have done to the US! A smart country would tell...

    • I agree, how about a Mad Max special where they have to cross the continent with used cars and only repair parts they can get locally where they break down.. I.E. Hammond in a ute with the back full of spare parts and medical supplies.

  • Wouldn't it be amazing for the trio to do The Tour Around the World in 80 days?? With 3 really crappy but "old-school-reliable" cars???

    Wouldn't it??

  • Well they could go anywhere- drive anything- even in covid insanity. The challenge is to do the whole thing in a full hazmat suit. Or instead of modifying ridiculous cars, let them build any kind of off-road vehicle they want, with accommodations, and drive across wildernesses with zero human covid threats within 250 miles. Staying that far away would be the challenge too. Well, and getting their UK built rigs on a ship straight to the site. Wherever it is, their trek must cross the continent (or island) and the ship pick them up on the other side.
