The hybrid Ford F-150 is significantly quicker than the hybrid RAM 1500
The Ford is much stronger than the RAM
While waiting for the future electric version of the F-150 scheduled for two years from now, Ford is finalizing the development of the hybrid model that will serve as a transition for customers. A member of F150gen14 has posted a video featuring the hybrid F-150 against its biggest rival, the hybrid RAM 1500.
A large tanker trailer, probably full, is attached to both vehicles. The Ford and the RAM then stand side by side in a row of cones. The oval brand organised a drag race to demonstrate the hybrid F-150's pulling power against its main rival, the hybrid RAM.
The victory of the F-150 is total since it manages to finish the race a good ten meters ahead of the RAM. The Ford F-150 Powerboost Hybrid will be equipped with a 3.5-litre V6 and a small battery. The technical specifications have not yet been revealed by Ford but the brand promises that the hybrid F-150 will be the most powerful pickup truck in its class.
On the other hand, the figures for the RAM 1500 HEMI eTorque are known. This is the famous 5.7-litre HEMI V8 developing 395 hp and 555Nm of torque. It is associated with a 48V battery that assists the engine during acceleration and makes the stop and start interventions more fluid, among other things.
