The joy of retro: 1985 Saab 900 Turbo video
We stumbled across the retro majesty of this MotorWeek archive video and thought it was worth sharing.
The MotorWeek Retro Review has been around for quite a while, but when we stumbled on this review of the Saab 900 Turbo we thought it was worth sharing with you lot.
The slalom test from 3:18 onwards, where presenter John Davis states that the Saab "doesn't like to plough or roll much," is particularly entertaining given the accompanying footage of the car pitching about like a ship in a storm (by modern standards, anyway).
Those of you who remember the '80s will also thoroughly enjoy the opening ads sequence.
Anyway, the Saab 900 Turbo is rightly a total legend, and this period piece gives a delightfully dead-pan, old-school road test idea of why. Enjoy.

Generations of dentists love this car
world second longest running free to air car show, motorweek been running since 1981 on pbs in the usa only top gear with 41 year with the bbc has a longer run.
Car designers had their priorities straight back then. Unless you bought a proper sports car, yours was built primarily for ride comfort and safety, so the outright handling of the basic car was easy to beat
boy o boy if only people knew they where 10 years ahead with 4banger turbos...but in the 80s almost everyone frowned at 4cyl cars
