Sad news comes from Ängelholm that the very last Regera has been sold, making the production officially ended. Despite the $2,000,000 price tag, all 80 of the build slots have been accounted for. They will be built alongside the last few of the Agera RS' making it the first time the brand has built two cars at the same time.

Unlike the hardcore RS, the Regera is more suited as a GT car. It houses the same 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that can be found in previous models but as a first for Koenigsegg, it features three YASA electric motors that produce almost 700hp on their own. The results are staggering and hard to get out heads around, but knowing Christian Von Koenigsegg we're fairly certain they're accurate.

Producing 1,500hp and 1,475lb-ft of torque with peak output at 7,800rpm, the Regera eats super and hypercars with ease. Koenigsegg claims a 0-60mph time in just 2.8 seconds, a top speed of 255mph (limited) and a 0-250mph time in 20 seconds.

The single speed gearbox called direct drive is the star of the show and has been unseen before, especially in this specification, for any supercar, or indeed performance car. Without the use of a conventional gearbox, the power loss is reduced by 50% and saves weight massively.
