The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ faces the Huracán Performante in a drag race!
Can the Aventador take down the Huracán this time?
Thanks to the constant evolution of technology, smaller and less powerful cars sometimes outperform their big brothers. This is the case in the Lamborghini range with the Huracán and the Aventador. The latter, despite its superior power, is usually overtaken by its little sister.
The element that makes all the difference is the gearbox. The bull's two supercars make use of two completely opposite technologies. The Aventador relies on a robotised single-clutch gearbox. This results in particularly brutal gear changes that give jerky shifts that break up acceleration.
This old system has become a real rarity in the world of supercars. The Huracán, on the other hand, uses a dual-clutch transmission that is much more modern and comfortable. In its Performante version, the little Lamborghini has a 5.2-litre V10 producing 640 PS and 600 Nm of torque.
In order to try to win the confrontation, the Aventador comes in its ultimate SVJ version. It therefore hides a 6.5-litre V12 producing 770 PS and 720 Nm of torque. Two figures much higher than those of its little brother. The Aventador is also not much heavier than the Huracán as it weighs 1525 kg compared to 1507 kg.
