The latest renderings of mid-engined Corvette have arrived

Let's just say, these are definitely going to cause a bit of controversy...

A few weeks ago news broke that the highly anticipated Corvette C8 was going to be mid-engined.

You can read my story here.

Now, five weeks on, the latest renderings of the C8 have been released.

For the most part, die hard Corvette fans are going to have a few issues with these but I'll leave it to them to express that in the comments.

The C8 is being hyped up to sit among and compete against McLarens and Porsches, some have said that it's about time America have a new high-performance car.

These renderings were created by “bdsvavars” and posted onto After some spy shots of the new C8 were caught outside the Nurburgring (imaged below) it looks as though these renderings are fairly accurate.

For now we will just have to wait until January 2019 where the Corvette C8 is expected to make its debut in Detroit.

  • It is about time the mid engine vette is finally here. Been rumors since I ever noticed cars, since the 90s, amd I believe if was even beforw that. Will wait until it is here. I hope they keep both models

  • Looks awful. Expect the price of all previous generations to go up. That's for sure.

  • Doesn’t really look like a corvette anymore

  • Don't get me wrong i'm a fan of it but it seems like a very basic/stereotypical supercar design. they could have come up with something that had more of the unmistakable corvette DNA or at minimum chevvy design language. At the moment it's not looking especially memorable which is a little sad considering the corvette's old poster car status
