The legendary Ford Mustang Mach 1 could make its comeback!
Ford unveiled the Mustang Mach-E electric SUV last month. Obviously, this has greatly affected the reaction of the lovers of the muscle car. Some people see it as a stroke of genius. Combining the Mustang's legendary bodywork with that of an SUV is the best. Others, on the contrary - and there are many of them - scream sacrilege.
The Mustang, synonymous with a sports coupe, had nothing to do with an electric family SUV! Worse still, Ford had initially planned to use the Mach 1 name for this SUV. Reactions on social networks escalated and the brand opted for Mach-E. The good news is that the Mach 1 name could make its comeback, and in the right form!
According to a video published by the YouTube channel CJ Pony Parts, the Ford Mustang Mach 1 will be resurrected in 2021. This would be the first time the Mach 1 name has made a comeback since the fourth-generation Mustang's production ended in 2004. Rumours are that the future Mustang Mach 1 will be more powerful than the Mustang GT and its 460 hp.
It would have a six-speed manual transmission and adopt common body parts with the Mustang Shelby GT350. The future Mustang Mach 1 would arrive in 2021 to replace the beloved Mustang Bullitt which will then retire. We hope that this particularly promising information will be confirmed in the near future.
