With the return of Alfa Romeo to the United States, now is an opportune time to examine where the Italian manufacturer left off. At present, there are two Alfa Romeo models in showrooms, the 4C and Giulia. Alfa Romeo would introduce a new front-wheel drive sedan at the dawn of the 1990s, the 164. This would join the classic Spider, now in its fourth generation equipped with such modern features as an airbag and Bosch fuel injection.
Below are some excerpts from the 1992 Alfa Romeo dealer brochure. The Spider would depart from US shores in 1994 and the final year for Alfa Romeo sales in the US would be 1995, with the 164 as the company's sole offering. Will Alfa Romeo be successful the second time around? Stay tuned.
