The London Motor Show is back for 2019 – and it has a new name

The 2019 London Motor Show will actually be called the London Motor and Technology Show – highlighting a new focus on the latest tech appearing in cars.

That's not all – the show, which will run from 16-19 May 2019 at the ExCeL in London – promises to double in size compared to 2018, which means there'll be more cars to ogle.

New safety tech, gadgets and in-car entertainment systems will be on display

The show's new 'innovation zone' expands the event's remit beyond 'ooh, shiny new cars', and will give visitors the chance to check out the cutting edge new tech appearing in the shiny new cars.

Andy Entwistle, CEO of the London Motor and Technology show, said: "Car manufacturers have become technology companies delivering high tech solutions to customers, which is why we have expanded the show and are inviting them to show-off their latest tech to buyers.

“The Innovation Zone will provide interactive opportunities for visitors to experience the latest technology and discover how it can enhance their driving enjoyment.”

There'll also be an expanded marketplace area for you to buy car products and memorabilia.

  • Would rather go to the classic restoration show and the classic motorshow at the NEC in Birmingham. Sorry new cars have started to get less interesting except for the Suzuki Jimny
