The Mexico City Police have ordered 15 Tesla Cybertrucks

Fighting crime with futuristic style!

Remember back when the news broke that the Dubai police force would be ordering a Tesla Cybertruck? Well, they're not the only law enforcement agency who have. There's another one that's put in a substantial group order and that's the Mexico City Police!

Apparently the city's mayor Adrián Esper Cárdenas was so impressed when he saw Elon Musk's slab sided, all-angles vision of the future of the pickup truck, he absolutely had to order a few for his city's public services.

I should note that these are not absolutely official orders yet – the mayor has only paid for the $100 per vehicle deposits so the Mexico City Police's name is on the list. As with everyone else who's paid a deposit for the Cybertruck, he has absolutely no idea when his 15 police-spec Cybertrucks are going to arrive. I wouldn't be surprised though if Tesla fast-track their order through due to the huge potential publicity it has!

What variants of the Cybertruck has the mayor ordered? Well, according to official sources, ten of them are the mid-range dual motor variant whilst five are the top-spec tri motor. He also sent renderings of what a police Cybertruck would look like so he could potentially get a discount on the final cost of the fleet.

You may not be able to order a Cybertruck in full police kit. You may not even be able to buy a civilian one. But you can buy this notebook from Amazon that's Cybertruck themed to jot down any billion-dollar ideas you might have. You never know, it might get you enough money to buy you your own one! That's if you don't mind the controversy that still surrounds the truck. Click here to get yours!

  • Hopefully the cartels are only armed with sledgehammers and never see the metal sphere video to learn its true weakness.

    • Yeah, sadly tanks or gunships would be more appropriate.

  • I feel like it'd look a bit like how this was supposed to look like...notably the built-in push bumper. It's crazy how at the time, this was "futuristic" looking.

  • Ludicrous. Unless they are putting a gun turret in the bed
