The Midnight releases official video for Deep Blue

The track is taken from their 2020 album Monsters

The Midnight continues to be a huge force in the synthwave movement. The duo of Tyler Lyle and Tim McEwan have managed to be one of the few acts that have transcended the genre and become a global sensation, selling out big venues all over the world. This was only further compounded by their two latest releases Monsters and Horror Show, an album and an EP that were released within a calendar year of each other. Deep Blue, which comes from the Monsters album, has just had a music video created for it and released and it's a pretty awesome visual spectacle!

Directed by Lucky (who has previously directed videos for Chvrches and Wiz Khalifa), the video for Deep Blue is a continuation of the video for Fire In The Sky from the same album. It tells a story of two lovers on the run from a mysterious force, all shown in compelling and ultra-saturated visuals reminiscent of the nostalgia of the VHS-era.

As if that wasn't enough, a remix of the song by Droid Bishop was dropped last week as well! Droid Bishop's version provides a markedly different take on the song that takes it in a jazzier and more laid-back direction.

The Midnight will be embarking on some extensive touring late this year and in 2022. The group will be travelling across North America first, with a trip to Europe planned for the coming Spring. The North American tour will visit cities including Nashville, Chicago, Toronto and New York and the European trek will see them playing shows in locations including Berlin, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and London. "We are so grateful for the opportunity to tour again," The Midnight commented on their plans to return to touring. "Over the last few months, we have spent a lot of time together writing new music and reminiscing on the feeling of what it’s like to share what we do with an audience. We have the best fans, and we’re so excited to bring a bigger band, bigger show and new songs to all of these cities"
