The Mini Cooper SE reaches 10,000 pre-orders

6d ago

The new Mini Cooper SE can already be pre-ordered in many countries. The initial figures are particularly encouraging. BMW announces that the 10,000 pre-orders mark has been crossed. This is simply twice the annual production target - 5,000 units per year - set at the time of the car's presentation.

At Mini, we are apparently even more enthusiastic! Elena Eder, project manager of the Mini Cooper SE, told the German newspaper "Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung" that the brand has already received 45,000 orders! That's more than four times the number confirmed by BMW! On the production side, customers who have already signed are very worried.

The Mini Cooper SE will be manufactured at the Oxford plant in England. This was without counting the Brexit which will take place on November 1st. The exit of the United Kingdom from Europe will undoubtedly be a detrimental factor for the production as well as the delivery of the car. However, Eder says that the group is already ready for the abrupt break and that there is therefore no reason to worry.

As a reminder, the Mini Cooper SE has both an ecological and sporty orientation. Its mechanics are based on those of the BMW i3S with an electric motor developing 135 kW (181 hp) thanks to a 32.6 kWh battery. This assembly therefore allows a range of 168 mi according to the WLTP cycle.
