The Mini John Cooper Works is Back...

...but when had it gone off-sale

2y ago

Confused by this? If yes, then me too. The news of its temporary demise just passed by. Maybe because we were too busy in viewing spy shots and images of the Toyota Supra.

Anyway, dive straight into the hottest Mini of them all.

The JCW was taken off sale because its 2.0-litre engine didn’t meet new WLTP emissions regulations. Now thanks to a particulate filter, it very much does. Performance is uninfluenced. 231bhp, and 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds in the hatch and 6.6 in the convertible with the six-speed manual gearbox, but you can also have an eight-speed auto that brings small improvements in economy and CO2 figures.

JCWs get sports suspension, 17-inch alloys, robust brakes and a JCW aero kit. Inside there’s piano black trim, leather sport seats and infotainment. To top it all of, it has the Union Jack tailights for the patriot in you.
