Ferrari has just released the successor to the California and I must say that its jaw dropplingly gorgeous. It looks likes calmed down version of Ferrari's new 812 superfast, which is not a terrible thing at all and to go with those looks is a 3.9 liter V8 engine from the old California which is now pumping out around 591 horsepower and 560 lb-ft of torque which coupled with a seven speed dual-clutch transmission launched this car from zero to 60 in 3.5 seconds.
The keen number crunchers here will notice that the Portofino's 0-60 time isn't the best 0-60 time that 200k can buy. Sure, the Lamborghini Huracan has a 0-60 time of 2.8s and the McLaren 570s of 2.7s but the Huracan just looks like a squished Aventador and the 570s has no elegance or emotion about it. However, this Ferrari looks like it belongs on the driveway of the late Hugh Hefner or James Dean, its a car for those who want to be different and not follow the paths of all these "lifestyle" youtubers and what not. When you tell someone that you drive a Ferrari, they don't think you're a newly signed rapper or a scientist at Nasa, you're depicted as a gentlemen who has the best stories at a cocktail and one who doesn't go around throwing cheesy pick-up lines at the ladies. With the Ferrari, you become the most interesting person in the whole room without uttering a single word, period.
