The nearly unbeatable 700+Hp Golf Mk2 TFSi-R of Karl Schagerl
The Austrian Ace winning and setting records on his VW Golf Mk2 Monster
With the 2020 season almost starting, let's remember who was the most winning car/driver combo of last Season. Karl Schagerl and his mighty VW Golf Mk2 continued their impressive march as one of the all time best teams in hillclimb racing, conquering another Austrian Championship and seeing the car reach its most evolved spec ever.
Now with the Schagerl Motorsport-tuned 2.0L TFSi engine unit developing an immense 702hp/8,500rpm and 720Nm of torque and weighing only 960Kg, this monster is starting to reach the pinnacle of its evolution and, having solved some of the reliability issues it had before, it simply crushed all competition on almost all events it entered. Apart from only a couple races (where it dealt with some minor problems), it won pretty much everything it competed in, all while beating a good number of all-time touring car records along the way. With the rumour of a whole new engine engine being used this new season, let's just see how far this monster will go.
