Car manufacturers are busy releasing new cars and special edition models at Pebble Beach in California as part of the Monterey car week, and American manufacturer, Ford are no exception. They have unveiled the new 2019 Ford GT Heritage Edition, a must have for owners of the previous GT Heritage Edition.

Firstly, the special model is finished in the iconic blue and orange gulf colours, but Ford have also added the option of something that is not available on the standard GT. As you probably know, the Ford GT body is made completely of carbon fibre, but the paint on the carbon makes this barely noticeable. With the Heritage Edition however, Ford gives you the option to add a number '9' on the bonnet of the car.

This exclusive option may not seem like much, but when you delve into the detail, you understand a bit more. The number 9 is reference to the GT40 that won at Le Mans in 1968, driven by drivers Pedro Rodriguez and Lucien Bianchi. The number is also special, because instead of being a sticker, Ford have instead not painted the the number onto the bodywork, leaving the carbon fibre visible.
