For 2019 the Jeep Cherokee has undergone a drastic facelift. There’s a new fascia, a new hood, and the headlights have been simplified. You no longer get the three piece headlight that has a squinting DRL, which I thought was always a bit strange and controversial. The simpler look adds an aggressive style, more upscale, and fits within the Jeep crossover and SUV lineup. There’s also an all new 2.0 liter direct injection turbo four cylinder with 270 hp and 295 lb ft of torque, which is good enough to tow a small boat, should that kind of thing appeal to you.
In the video below, shot during one of the worst winter storms in recent memory, I share with you the good, the bad, and the ugly of the new Jeep Cherokee, while also driving through some deep snow, mud, and other various conditions that should put the Jeep Active Drive 4X4 system to good use.
