The New Jeep Grand Wagoneer Will Cost You Over $100K
Here's all you need to know about the new Jeep Wagoneer.
1. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer has returned as a luxury SUV.
2. The Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will start production in 2021 and should cost from $60,000 to $100,000.
The new Jeep Grand Wagoneer was unveiled yesterday, and it has a third row. Essentially, the Grand Wagoneer is just an SUV version of the Ram 1500.
The interior is souped up and could belong in a Cadillac or Range Rover. In addition, it has nice wood, leather, and a very modern interior design. Features: A digital gauge cluster, upper and lower infotainment displays, rear entertainment screens, a screen between the second-row seats for climate control, and even a screen for the passenger are all onboard. Three rows of seating will be standard, and different wheelbase sizes may be available.
Engine and Drivetrain
Because it is based on the Ram 1500, similar powertrain configurations should be available. If this is the case, an assortment of 5.7 L V8's, a hybrid 3.6 L V6, and maybe a turbo diesel will be available. A plug-in hybrid version is definitely on the way as well, and will probably appear in the 1500 too. Four wheel drive will be standard, and Jeep says 3 different 4x4 systems will be obtainable as well as optional air suspension.
Christian Meunier, Jeep's president, says fully optioned Grand Wagoneer's will top $100,000-they're not giving these things away. The base Wagoneer trim will start at about $60,000 and they should arrive in dealerships in mid-2021, so not that far away.
They've done a good job with the new Wagoneer, despite it being a Ram 1500 underneath. The interior is stunning, exterior is unique, and features are plentiful. I look forward to seeing one of these on the road.
