The next generation Audi A3 and A4 should be fully electric only
The German brand will soon begin its revolution
All new Audi cars after 2026 will be electric-only, and the next Q8 is likely to be the last Audi to have a combustion engine. By then, the range will be gradually electrified and all models will undergo a metamorphosis.
According to the German newspaper Automobilwoche, the next generations of the Audi A3 and A4 will not have thermal or even hybrid versions. The compact car will be replaced by a new model in 2025, the A3 e-tron, while the sedan will give way to an A4 e-tron in 2023.
The A5 and A6 will probably have a similar fate. The presentation of the A6 e-tron concept at the Shanghai Motor Show corroborates this hypothesis. As a reminder, this prototype is based on Audi's new PPE platform, which will be dedicated to the brand's large sedans. Among other things, it operates on a voltage of 800V to optimise fast charging.
